It has been wonderful meeting with you at our conferences. I look forward to seeing the rest of you this week!
***We still have 1:30 dismissal all week.***
Here's what's up this week:
• This week, we'll dive into the ocean and start learning about many of the animals that live there! We'll incorporate all kinds of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, and music into this big (and awesome) theme. Our ocean study will take us all the way to Winter Break, and will culminate in a special performance for our families. The tentative date for the performance is Friday, December 16, probably at 2:00 pm. I'll firm up the date when we get a bit closer.
• I'm in the process of adding several updates to the curriculum pages of the website. Take a peek at what we're doing in Science, Writer's Workshop, Reader's Workshop, and Math.
• Halloween is right around the corner, and we'll be having a costume parade and party on the morning of Friday, October 31.
• Desperately seeking help!!!! Every class needs a Gala Basket Coordinator, and we don't have one yet. If you would like to volunteer for this very important (and fun!) job, please let me know right away. Perhaps two or three people could even work together as a team.
